When db Dave first invited us to his 

tiny canyon studio, the spirit in the air

was renewal. Between hammering,

shoveling, painting and wiring there was also some drinking, writing, 

laughing and tracking.

The ProTools rig that Dave put together

is world class and the setting unparalleled.

The HipHut stood nestled on a redwood hillside with a creek splitting 20 feet from mix position.

 

The structural shape of that inspiring creative 

place grew rapidly, as did the songbook. 

It spawned a period of prolific collaboration 

and treasured friendships.

 

The themes and instrumentation in this collection of country songs draw from the soul of this northern California canyon.
